We offer 12 week intensive Cambridge exam preparation for full-time students , starting in January, March and September. Minimum levels required.
PET (Preliminary English Test)
PET is an exam for people who can use everyday written and spoken English at an intermediate level. It covers all four language skills — reading, writing, listening and speaking. Preparing for the exam is a popular way to develop and improve your language skills because it provides practical language practice in a variety of everyday work, study and leisure situations.
Choose the PET Preparation Course at P.I.C.E. if you need to improve your use of language in real life, such as understanding signs and announcements, and to get accepted by many employers as proof of ability to use English in clerical, secretarial or managerial jobs. It is also widely accepted for use in jobs where spoken English is necessary such as tourism, retail, construction, manufacturing and engineering.
FCE (First Certificate in English)
The Cambridge First Certificate in English (FCE) is an Upper-Intermediate exam which provides intensive instruction in speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar. FCE indicates sufficient proficiency in English to be of practical use in clerical, secretarial and managerial jobs in many industries, in particular tourism, where contact with English speakers is required.
Choose the FCE Preparation Course at P.I.C.E. to improve your English for these reasons, with a particular focus on the skills and strategies required to pass the FCE examination.
CAE (Certificate in Advanced English)
The Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) is an advanced level English exam aiming to be a practical and relevant advanced qualification relating to the world of work and social interaction rather than strictly for academic purposes. Many students sitting for the CAE have already successfully passed the First Certificate in English (FCE). Like the FCE, the CAE exam preparation also provides intensive instruction in the 5 skill areas of the exam; speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar.
Choose the CAE Preparation Course at P.I.C.E. if your English is at a pre-advanced standard that is adequate for most purposes, including social and professional situations. A positive result on this exam could also be useful in higher education in some situations.

The English for Academic Purposes preparation course at P.I.C.E. is suitable for students who want to take an IELTS test, for example for entry to further education in Australia (TAFE/university) or migration purposes. The course has the features of an exam course (intensive study program, tailored homework schedule and weekly exam practice).
IELTS tests all four language skills – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The Speaking test is a face-to-face interview with a certified Examiner. It is interactive and as close to a real-life situation as a test can get. This means your understanding of English is improved and valid for real life in an English-speaking country. More than 6000 organisations, including many government departments and universities, rely on IELTS. The IELTS scoring system is recognised globally, giving you a truly international result.
